Today we went to Kateri Park Preschool. A big thanks to the students for bringing such great books. Unfortunately, we missed the bus we needed and arrived too close to the preschool's dismissal time to read to the children. We will reschedule this field study for sometime in March.
This afternoon students further developed their curator character by beginning a resume. The curators are applying for the curator positions that have opened at our school. There homework is to finish their resume and to get a letter of recommendation to submit on Thursday. They will be interviewed for the job on Thursday.
Due Thursday, Feb. 16th:
-Resume
-Letter of recommendation
-Reading Response
Here is a sample recommendation letter for those parents who may find an example helpful. Please have fun with these!
"I am Cynthia Sullivan. I have known Leila for many years. I worked with her in the Israeli museum fixing the Dead Sea scrolls. She is an amazing worker and I'm proud to call her a good friend and colleague. She was always very professional while on the job, I suppose that's why she inspired so many of us to be very on top of it when at the workplace. She's extremely unique and talented at what she does. She enjoys working so if something's important, you can trust her to get it done as quickly as needed. I truly believe you would not regret hiring her, I actually think you would be really happy if you did. If you do, you will end up with a composed, calm and productive team member who is fun to be around."
