We did some prep for conferences and will finish it tomorrow. Some students asked for me to post what they need to have ready for their student-led conferences. It is pasted below...

1. -Fill out Student Led Conferences Guide

a. Effort/Thought… this will be a guide to your conference

3. -Bookmark favorite entry from trimester in WW (explain why you chose this)

4. -Bookmark favorite entry from trimester in E-Core (explain why you chose this)

5. – Bookmark an entry in your curator’s notebook – explain the different sections and how they relate to a civilization

6. – Bookmark your favorite History Alive chapter reading notes

  1. Keep journals in cubby. Organize cubby!!!
  2. -Check out your Writing Folder… Make sure your Character Analysis and your Persuasive pieces are in there. What else is in there? What do you want to show your parents from this folder? Make it organized. Place all things in there (except your two journals)…
  3. Check out Service Journal… Is it organized? Are all your reflections securely added to your journal?
  4. Check out with Sarah … get a cleaning task!

Current Event/Culture Assignment:

Each week, 8 students will be sharing a current event that is happening in Greece or sharing an aspect of Greek culture with the rest of the class. Please choose one of the 2 options to share on the Monday you are assigned.

1. Current Event:

a. On an index card, write the title of the article, date, and source (Where you got the article, ex: New York Times, BBC, Oregonian, etc.—it must be a reputable source!)

b. Write a 4-5 sentence summary of the article that includes the important locations, people and ideas in the article

c. Prepare a 1-2 minute presentation that you will give to the class to educate us all on this event.

2. Cultural aspect:

a. Choose an aspect from Greek culture you would like to share with the rest of the class (food, arts, entertainment, etc.). On an index card, write the title of the cultural aspect you will be sharing the source of your research.

b. Write a 4-5 sentence summary about that specific cultural aspect.

c. Prepare a 1-2 minute presentation that you will give to the class – this can include a sample of the food to share, pictures, a music clip, etc.


6th Grade Math:
