Check out a few pictures from Jean's Farm last week. I was busy teaching, so I didn't get a ton :)
If you took photos on today's field study to Forest Park of the characteristics of the forest, please email them to me or print them and bring them to class! sunnysidesarah@gmail.com

Room 209 was the place to be at 2:40 this afternoon. After tackling a task of creating a forest ecosystem food chain, groups presented their posters using interpretive dance, freestyle rap, and beautiful song. It was highly entertaining and fun for all!
Hopefully you will hear your student sprinkle this evening's conversation with terms like biotic and abiotic (it was assigned as a task for homework). Don't be surprised if you hear, "Golly, that abiotic sun is making me sweat!" Or, "This dinner is totally biotic!"
We are off to Jean's Farm tomorrow. Students need to bring a lunch and water bottle (I told them they would receive points off their assignment if they don't have a water bottle).
I'm off to enjoy the biotic and abiotic factors that make up this wonderful world!

We have been contacted by the little people!
During our awesome trip to Reed Canyon today, students received notes from different tribes of little people who watch closely over certain parts of the forest. The students were invited to help the little people teach the 'large ones' about the SECRETS of the forest and forest ecology -- so that the large ones are aware of forests and their impact on them. It was a magical day of observing, connecting, and grounding ourselves in Reed Canyon. We go again on October 11 -- sign up to come along!
A big thanks to Tiffany, Laura, Julia, and Cynthia for coming on today's trip! They were amazing!
The assignment for today's field study is due on Tuesday.
There's a great Service opportunity Oct 6 at Reed Canyon (it's also garden day at SES) -- Fall Canyon Day! It's from 9am to 3pm. Let me know if you are interested in attending and I can forward you a flier.
Here's a link to pictures from our first trip to the fountain last Friday. Take a look at all the fun we had!
Look forward to seeing everyone at Back to School night! Bring your calendar so you can sign up for a field study!

Welcome Back to School!!!
The time has finally come...let school begin!
We can't wait to meet all the students who will be joining our class this year!
Important note: As you become bombarded with paperwork, please be on the lookout for a field trip permission slip. We need this signed and returned before we leave for our first field study this Friday.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
