We managed to almost not get rained on today...only hailed on slightly.  Students participated in a Quest around the neighborhood looking for signs of the history of the area.  We then spread out on a walk towards 43rd searching for aspects that created the identity of the neighborhood.  An interesting discussion ensued when we returned to the class -- Do the residents of a neighborhood affect the identity of that neighborhood more than the infrastructure of a neighborhood?  The debate heated up as the students discussed who or what was to blame for a neighborhood that is deemed 'unsafe'.  This discussion will serve as a great launching pad for after spring break when we start delving into the issues involved with urban planning.
