Today each student shared a creation myth from a different world culture. They brought fantastic projects to illustrate the myths. These stories, many of which were confusing and strange on the first read, became easy to understand with the students' simple and clear retelling.

Students began a reading log in their reading notebook today, and are asked to log the daily reading they do at home. They should read the same book each night, and complete the book in two weeks, by Oct. 27th. A character response sheet that describes the main character and the events that change the character is due on Thursday, Oct. 27th.

Due Monday - geology vocabulary
- final draft of the scar story

Due in two weeks - complete reading "silent reading book" (as we keep referring to it in class) and the character/event response sheet.
