I will be at the 8th Graders for the rest of the week at the 8th Grade Retreat. 6/7th graders will be at school for math/Spanish and health rotations. I will be out of contact -- so please do not expect a response to emails until Monday.

Bring in canned food and/or money donations for Oregon Food Bank all week!

We need drivers for our field study to Tryon Creek on March 8th!!! Please let me know if you can help out that day!

Tabor, Washington Park, Ross Island Bridge (only pipes that carry water above ground across the river), Your House!, Wastewater Treatment plant
Map must have color! And include a key for pipes that carry freshwater/dirty water

  1. We baked crackers in the cob oven and tasted different varieties of sprouts and seeds.

a. Research the nutritional value of sprouts. Are they ‘healthier’ for you than eating the dried seeds?

  1. Seeds:
    1. Name at least 4 different ways that seeds can be dispersed – what are the benefits of each dispersal method?
    2. How are chicken eggs and plant seeds similar? Make a venn diagram comparing the two.
  2. Farming
    1. It’s still too early to plant things in the soil outside. We started some strawberry plants in the greenhouse. How does a greenhouse help to extend your growing season?
