Monday Homework

Tomorrow we are going to Tryon Creek State Park! The weather is predicted to be cool, but clear. Dress for the worst and hope for the best!

Due Tuesday
  • River STory: students should complete a fact page with border and a page with a beautiful map with the course of the river also described in beautiful language. These pages will be compiled into a book (ala Lynn Cherry's A River Ran Wild) about an American river. Each student has already chosen their river and have begun researching it. This week we will focus on the geology of the river.
Students are coming to me saying they aren't finding a lot of information about certain rivers. This is the perfect time to choose a MAJOR River in the US and not struggle through the research process. If basic facts are find difficult to find-- discovering the geology of the river will seem impossible.

  • Geography #5--due Thursday (because no school on Friday).

  • Trick-or-Treat for Unicef: students can still collect money for UNICEF and bring it in by Thursday. They can use this as a community-based project.

  • Due Thursday: Read up to Nov. 2 in Tangerine (pages 133-168), just read!
