The First Week!

What a brilliant first week we have had so far!

The students have done an amazing job creating a wonderful classroom community. Our first writer's workshop went very well; students did a great job being respectful of each other's writing and thinking 'space' within the classroom. Our first field study today was a blast! We had a long walk along the Eastbank Esplanade to meet up with Tara's class for some games and a quick Nature Journal entry. And then we had what seemed like an even longer walk along the Westbank Esplanade to catch the 14 at the Hawthorne Bridge. Tomorrow we have our first Math/Spanish/Studio classes and begin work on our Essay of Concerns to kick off Service Learning.

Next week we will begin work on our botany books and begin reading The Ancient One.

Students have been recording homework in their planners at the end of the day. Please check for this at home!

I'm looking forward to an amazing school year!
